报告人简介:
Rinaldo Poli obtained his PhD at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, in 1985. After a postdoctoral stay at Texas A&M University (1985–87), he joined the University of Maryland, College Park, where he was promoted to full professor in 1995. He joined the Université de Bourgogne in France in 1996, and in 2003 he moved to Toulouse, where he currently teaches at the Ecole National Supérieur des Ingénieurs en Arts Chimiques et Technologiques and leads a research group at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination. His research interests encompass various aspects of transition-metal chemistry, including aqueous organometallic chemistry and catalysis, and controlled radical polymerization. He has 380 publications in peer-reviewed international journals (H = 45).
报告摘要:
Nanoreactors with narrow size distribution of ca. 100 nm have been assembled by controlled radical polymerization in water using the RAFT controlling method to obtain polymer latexes with up to 30% weight fraction of polymer material. The nanoreactors are core-cross-linked micelles (CCM) or nanogels (NG) with a neutral or charged hydrophilic shell and flexible hydrophobic polystyrene arms that are ligand-functionalized in the core. One specific example is shown in the Figure. Loading with different metal pre-catalysts leads to efficient catalyzed transformations of completely water insoluble substrates under aqueous biphasic conditions with good recyclability and low catalyst leaching. Investigations of interparticle metal migration processes, as well as model studies of ligand exchange for the molecular versions, have provided relevant information on the molecular and macromolecular dynamics and on the origin of the catalyst leaching.
