报告人:Irshad Hussain教授
Department Chair, Department of Chemistry,
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan.
Chair, Nanotech Experts Panel (Pakistan Council for Science &
Technology http://www.pcst.org.pk/), Ministry of Science &
Technology, Govt. of Pakistan.
Fellow, The Chemical Society of Pakistan.
Associate Editor, Journal of Chemical Society of Pakistan
报告人简历:
Dr. Hussain is among the founding members of SBA School of Science & Engineering (SSE) and has played a key role to lead the development of Chemistry Department at LUMS. Prior to joining LUMS, Dr. Hussain spearheaded research and development program in Nanobiotechnology at National Institute for Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering (NIBGE), Faisalabad, Pakistan, and developed a Nanobiotech group/facility for the synthesis of metal nanoparticles and explore their applications in biotechnology and advanced materials fabrication, which is now among the few best such facilities in Pakistan. He has published ~50 research articles in prominent journals including Nature Materials, Angewandte Chemie - Int. Ed., Advanced Materials, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Small, ChemCommun, Langmuir, and Nanoscale. He has delivered several lectures at national and international forums to highlight the potential of nanotechnology in various disciplines with particular reference to his own research achievements in this emerging field.
In 2007, Dr. Hussain was also awarded a Professor Atta-ur-Rehman Gold Medal/Prize in chemistry by Pakistan Academy of Sciences to acknowledge his achievements in this field during the last five years. In addition Dr. Hussain is a regular recipient of research productivity awards/prize by Pakistan Council for Science & Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan, since 2006. Recently Dr. Hussain has also been elected as the Fellow of the Chemical Society of Pakistan. More recently Dr. Hussain has been selected as the Chair of Nanotech Experts Panel by Pakistan
Council for Science & Technology (PCST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of Pakistan.
Current impact factor of Dr. Hussain is more than 210, Hirsh factor is 15, and rapidly increasing citations over 1600.
报告二:Fabrication of colloidal and ice-templated materials for separation and battery applications
报告人:Haifei Zhang (张海飞) 博士
The University of Liverpool, UK
报告人简历:
Haifei Zhang received his PhD degree from the Institute of Chemistry (Chinese Academy of Sciences) in 2001, and then joined the group of Prof. Andrew I Cooper in the University of Liverpool (UK) as a postdoctoral researcher. He was awarded a RCUK Academic Fellowship in 2005 and started to build his research group in the same University. He is currently a Reader at the Department of Chemistry University of Liverpool. Haifei Zhang received the 12th Destyl Memorial Award in 2007. He was selected to attend CRUCIBLE 2009 UK and was invited to give talks at the 238th ACS National Meeting and the 11th Pacific Polymer Conference in Australia.
He is currently active in the research areas of porous materials by emulsion-temlating and ice-templating, novel stationary phase for HPLC, electrode materials, and drug nanoparticles. You are welcome to get in contact with any of these activities.
